There is nothing more comforting than a good meal and Muncher understands this fully. For a chef on Pot Belly Island, food is a lifestyle. Muncher spends his days preparing and cooking meals for King Smorgas and his councilmen, the Smorgas Board. But one night, as Muncher arose to fix a midnight snack, he sees a shadowy figure rummaging around in the food stores; an intruder. Muncher confronts the intruder but it escapes, leaving behind nothing but scraps.

The next morning, the King issues a grave message to the people of Pot Belly Island; they are going to war. The raid that occurred last night was merely a harbinger of things to come. Talks of starvation are beginning to spread throughout the island. Smorgas orders for all able-bodied men to nobly serve; including Muncher. But it is in the chaos of war, that Muncher learns that the main ingredient in some folks is greed.

He can only hope to protect his home and not wind up on the menu.
